The Capital


This is the largest and wealthiest of the seven Emirates. It includes a number of offshore islands, one which is Abu Dhabi city itself. The city is known for its lush greenery, planned development and charming cornice. The principal mainland areas are Al Ain, Liwa and Ruwais. The Liwa Oasis located on the edge of the Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) offers some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

Numerous other islands and warm waters offer excellent beach holiday options. This fascinating city now hotly competes with Dubai as a top Global Conference and Exhibition venue.
